The Will of Richard Parsons of Kington Magna, 1681



 
In the name of God Amen the thirtieth day of May Annoq Domini one thousand six hundred eighty one I Richard Parsons of Kington Magna in the county of Dorset fflaxman being of perfect memory and remembrancing praise be God I do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and as for my body to be buried in a Christian burial at the ? of my Executors hereafter named and as for my worldly goods which God hath blest me I dispose it as followeth First I give and bequeath unto George Parsons my son Targot Livering which lye in Churton for the term of his life and then after to remaine unto George Parsons the younger the sonne of the said George for to remain forever Item I give unto Richard Parsons my sonne the said Acre which lye in Batchpoole forever upon condition to pay tenne pounds in tenne years after my decease unto my grandchild Henry Parsons sonne of the said ffrancis Parsons Item I give the said mortgage of Joseph Cogswell's house in ffrome Selwood unto ffrancis Parsons my sonne also ? the Lease of thirty acres of ground which lye in ffrome unto my sonne ffrancis Parsons and the house which I have at Wincalton for the term of his natural life then after to his said sonne John Parsons for the terme of the said three lives Item I give unto George Parsons the house which he now lives in at Wincalton until the said Livering do come to the hands of the said George which lye in Churton. Also I give unto my grandchild Mary Parsons the summe of five pounds in one year after my said decease But in case my Grandchild John Parsons doo happen to dye without Issue the said Land and Estate before nominated to remaine unto Richard Parsons and Henry Parsons the sonne of the aforesaid ffrancis Item all the rest of my goods and money upon ? or otherwise I give unto John Dowding and Richard Parsons and doo make them sole and whole executors of this my last will and testament and doo appoint them to pay all my debts and legacies as aforesaid In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and year above written
