Sidney Alfred Parsons and his Ancestors
The last Will and Testament of James Parsons the elder of Marsh in the
parish of Horsington in the County of Somerset Yeoman
I give and devise unto my daughter Susanna one clear annuity rent charge
and sum of eight pounds per annum for and during the term of her natural
life to be issuing and payable from and out of my lands and tenements in
the parish of Horsington aforesaid by even and equal half yearly payments
and the first payment thereof to begin and be made on the second usual
quarter day for the payment of rents next after my decease And to and for
her own peculiar use and benefit and not subject or liable to the debts
? or engagements of any husband to whom she may hereafter be
married and her receipts alone (whether married or sole) to be a
sufficient discharge for all payments thereof. Also I give and bequeath
unto my daughter the said Susanna the sum of three hundred pounds to be
paid in one year next after my decease and one bed bedstead and the
furniture thereof whereon she now usually sleeps And it is my Will that
the said Susanna my daughter shall and may have an abiding in the house
now occupied by me as long as she shall remain single and unmarried
without paying any rent or other consideration for the same Also I give
and devise unto my grandson Thomas Lush the younger one clear annuity rent
charge and sum of five pounds per annum for and during the term of his
natural life to be issuing and payable from and out of my said Lands and
tenements in the parish of Horsington aforesaid by even and equal half
yearly payments and the first payment thereof to begin and be made on the
second usual quarter day for payment of rents next after my decease Also I
give and bequeath unto my grandson the said Thomas Lush the sum of one
hundred pounds to be paid in one year next after my decease and one bed
bedstead and the furniture thereof Also I give and bequeath unto my
grandson the said Thomas Lush the further and other sum of one hundred
pounds at and when he shall attain the age of twenty five years And all my
lands and tenements in the parish of Horsington aforesaid (charged with
the said two several ? annuities rent charges and sums as aforesaid)
and also all other my lands and tenements whatsoever I give and devise
unto my two sons James and William their heirs and assigns for ever as
tenants in common and not as joint tenants I give unto my son in law
Thomas Lush the elder the sum of one shilling And all the rest and residue
of my goods and chattels monies and securities for money personal Estate
and Effects whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my two sons the said James
and William equally between them and I do constitute and appoint my sons
the said James and William Executors and residuary legatees of this my
Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed and set my hand and
seal the twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and twenty one The Mark & seal of X James Parsons the Elder
This writing was signed and sealed by James Parsons the Testator and by
him published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament in the
presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our
names as Witnesses thereto The same being first read over to the said
Testator and approved by him
