The Will of Isaac Gale of Malmesbury, 1721



 
In the Name of God Amen I Isaac Gale of Coston in the Parish of Malmesbury in the County of Wilts Gent being sick and weak in body but thanks be to God of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following hereby revoking all former wills by me herebefore made that is to say I commend my Soul unto Almighty God sincerely desiring pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins through and by the love of Jesus Christ my Redeemer, and as for my body I would have it buried at the discretion of my Executour and for my Worldly goods I dyspose of them as follows that is to say,

Imprimus — I give unto my wellbeloved Wife Grace Gale my lease-hold Estate in Coston aforesaid commonly known by the name of Collers house with the Orchard, Backfields, Close, Garden and Farm thereunto belonging for five years after my decease if she shall happen so long to live but in case she shall happen to dye before the End of five years then I give the said Leasehold-estate to my Daughter Anne Holborow during the Remainder of my lease, and my will is that my said Daughter shall have the said Leasehold Estate immediately after the Expiration of five years or the Death of her Mother which shall first happen.

Item — I give to my Son Isaac Gale my Gold Signett ring instantly after my decease and my Silver Tankard after the decease of his mother.
And Lastly — I give to my welbeloved Wife Grace Gale all my goods and stock not before disposed of whom I make Sole and whole Executrix of this my last will. Witness my hand and seale the thirteenth of February 1721.

Probate, in Latin, was granted to Grace Gale in Chippenham on the 9th of May 1727.
